Accomplishes what its authors intended

This is a nice addition to the DXA literature. There is a scarcity of DXA textbooks, and most of the existing ones are either too simplistic or overly dry and academic. This book uses real cases to teach the basics of DXA interpretation. I've always wondered why no one has ever published a "how to" on DXA that incorporates the same kind of information that is taught at the ISCD courses (a textbook would be considerably less expensive). I'm subtracting one star due to an important error on page 6 where the T-score range for low bone mass (osteopenia) is given as -2.5 to -1.5 when it should be -2.5 to -1.0. The book is also somewhat expensive given that it is about 150 pages long, but this is probably due to the numerous DXA scan images as well as photos.

An excellent text for the practicing internist

Clear, concise, with complex concepts clearly explained. Contains many excellent case illustrations with images, from normal findings to 'zebras'. Appreciate the no-nonsense and not-bogged-down-in-technicalities approach.
