About the Author

Tim Delaney is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the State University of New York at Oswego. He holds a B.S. degree in sociology from the State University of New York at Brockport, a M.A. degree in sociology from California State University at Dominguez Hills, and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. He regularly teaches courses on street gangs and shares his personal stories of gang research in Los Angeles and upstate New York with his students.

�� Delaney has authored, co-authored, or served as a contributing author/editor on 14 books, to date. Among his publications are Connecting Sociology to Our Lives: An Introduction to Sociology (2012); Classical and Contemporary Social Theory: Investigation and Application (2012); Environmental Sustainability (2012); and American Street Gangs (2006). He has also published numerous book reviews, journal articles, encyclopedia articles and chapters in edited books.

�� Delaney regularly presents papers at regional, national, and international conferences. His commitment to scholarly activity allows him to travel the world and learn first-hand the great diversity, and similarity, found among people from different cultures. Delaney maintains membership in more than a dozen academic associations, has twice served as President of the New York State Sociological Association, is listed in Who's Who in America, and is a charter member of the "Wall of Tolerance."

Needs a good amount of editing

This text needs to be reviewed by a professional editor. In addition to having a biased tone it has what appear to be contradictory statistics in it and a few that can't seem to be found outside the book. The idea of the book could be good as it has a well rounded grouping of material but currently as a text book it is confusing and frustrating with a couple of extremely dry stretches within. The test questions that go along with the book contain questions that cannot be located in the second edition as if the book was reviewed but the questions weren't. As a text book it just doesn't make the grade.

If you want the Truth, read this book.

This is the latest work by Robert Scheinfeld, the no bull teacher who tells it like it is from his own experience, not something regurgitated from the many self help 'gurus' out there, all with their own systems to find our ultimate goal or whatever. This author pulls no punches but explains the whole story in crystal clear terms with a practical blueprint that anyone can follow in order to find the thing we're all searching for...True Happiness. To follow in his footsteps you can throw away the orange robes, go and pig out on a Big Mac or two, wash it down with a bottle of beer and sit back and light up a smoke before reading this book which will cut through all the myths and bull surrounding this elusive thing we're all looking for. The author describes in simple terms just what Happiness really is and shows you the reader just how to find it, and once you see how simple it really is, you'll wonder why you haven't discovered it before.

This book is written for everyone but not everyone will see or reap the benefits from it. Just as the young bird cannot immediately fly as soon as it comes out of the egg, it requires a certain level of growth before the reader can understand the concepts presented here and when the reader is ready, flying with it will take no effort whatsoever. Robert also gives links to other resources from his website; these will enhance the reader's experience but are not really necessary in order to get the full value of this book. Those readers who really resonate with the ideas presented here will dive in, take the Red Pill and begin to fly, others may put the book on the shelf and come back to it later but anyone who reads it will start to think about what he's talking about and one way or another the message will sink in; just what you'll do with it is entirely up to you.

Should you buy this book? I can't tell anyone what they 'should' or 'shouldn't' do, nor can anyone else, but if you're serious about finding True Happiness, you can't make a better start than here.

Con artist or helper of humanity?

I purchased 2 copies of The Ultimate Key to Happiness. I wanted to share this book with others as I was impacted by Busting Loose from the Money Game. This book is where Robert spoke truth about us being in the illusion (dream) and how I could see this truth in my own life. Every time I took others to his web-site to also experience this truth...the only thing we encountered was a commercial for one of his expensive programs. This was very discouraging. I felt used. I was hoping his newest book would clarify understanding of our situation in our collective dream. It did not. It was only a lead in to his on line programs. We all know our thoughts and emotions are creating our reality. He does help us to become aware of dropping attachment to the story and allowing the emotional energy to just be experienced, without judging it. Now what do we do with this information and how does it take us to our authentic self? Give more money to Robert and he can take us on another trip to needing to know more? My heart aches over this. How are we ever going to come together for win/win, when money is the name of the game? This tells me Robert does not really believe what he is preaching.
Roberts books are a good stepping off point for a shift of consciousness but there is so much more available to us in opening our hearts and embracing the Truth of who we are.

This book has no heart and soul

When I heard about Robert Scheinfeld's new book "The Ultimate Key to Happiness" I had high expectations. With such a title I expected it to be a terrific book with heart and soul. Well it wasn't. In a nut shell the message of the book is whatever you feel and whatever emotions come up just stay neutral, don't listen to your mind machine and let the truth virus do its job and you will be happy all the time. I had gotten the biggest aha moment while reading "Busting Loose from the Money Game" by Scheinfeld. This new book was a huge let down and lacked substance. The book is totally devoid of heart and soul, it reads like a manual for computer. He uses the term mind machine buzzing and whirring so many time I thought I would go mad. To make matter worse the chapter on the Red Pill was a shameless promotion for a 24 week course. This book is an infomercial I had to pay for.

About the Author
K�ren Matison Hess, PhD., (d. 2010) wrote extensively in law enforcement and criminal justice, gaining a respected reputation for the consistent pedagogical style around which she structured each textbook. She co-authored multiple editions of MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, CONSTITUTIONAL LAW AND THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, and JUVENILE JUSTICE, in addition to INTRODUCTION TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE. Her work and influence are still evident in this new edition.

Christine Hess Orthmann holds an M.S. in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati and has been writing and researching in various aspects of criminal justice for over 20 years. She is the author of numerous Cengage Learning textbooks, a former reserve officer with the Rosemount (Minnesota) Police Department, and a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS), the American Society of Criminology (ASC), the Text and Academic Authors Association (TAA), and the National Criminal Justice Honor Society (Alpha Phi Sigma).

Shaun E. LaDue, M.S., has 24 years of police experience, with over eight years as a police chief. Presently, he serves as chief of police for the City of West Des Moines, Iowa, a department that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA). He served from 2004 to 2010 as the chief of police for the City of Owatonna, Minnesota, prior to which he was with the Bloomington Police Department, Minnesota, having risen from a patrol officer to Division Commander of patrol operations, administration, and special operations with various positions along the way including crimes against persons detective and school liaison officer. LaDue has tri-sector experience in non-profit, public, and private entities, including working as Director of Compliance Investigations for United Health Group in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Chief LaDue has attended numerous leadership and management institutes, general professional development programs, and specialized training courses. He has been actively involved in the communities he has served as well as in professional organizations, most notably, the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA), the Southern Police Institute Alumni Association (SPI), the Iowa Police Chief's Association (IPCA), and the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA).

Very Long Read

This book was a must read on my department for a promotional test coming up and I therefore had to purchase it. It had a lot of good ideas in it but is also pretty redundant very wordy. Becomes very dry reading and I believe could have been condensed.

About the Author
Bennett L. Schwartz got his Ph.D. in 1993 from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.� Since then he has been� at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, where he is currently Professor of Psychology and a Fellow of the Honors College.� He is author or editor of 8 books as well as over 50 journal articles and chapters.� His textbook,� Memory:� Foundations and Applications, 2nd edition (Sage Publications) was published in 2014. At FIU, he� has won several teach awards and currently teaches courses in Memory,Cognition and Sensation and Perception.� His main research area is metacognition, but he has also conducted research in areas as diverse as visual percepton to evolutionary psychology� to the language of thought to memory in non-human primates.� Schwartz also serves on the editorial board of several journals and recently served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Research in Memory And Cognition.

John H. Krantz received his psychology PhD from the University of Florida. After graduate school he worked in industry at Honeywell on visual factors related to cockpit displays. In 1990, he returned to academia taking a position at Hanover College.� John has done extensive research in vision, human factors, computers in psychology, and the use of the web as a medium for psychological research. He has been Program Chair and President of the Society for Computers in Psychology and Editor of the journal, Behavior Research Methods.� John was the first to develop Web experiments in psychological science and lead the way on techniques for sending multimedia via the Web. He has served as a faculty associate for The Psychology Place developing interactive learning activities and created psychology’s first global web site for the Association for Psychological Science (APS). In addition, he is an author on both the Cognitive Toolkit and PsychSim 6. John is well known for his widely used online psychological experiments related to sensation, perception and cognition. His current research is focused on using the web for psychological research and modeling the visual system.

About the Author
Peter is a Professorial Research Fellow and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. His interests are literacy education, educational disadvantage, classroom interaction and research methodology. He has authored or edited 10 books and over 20 research reports to government. He has published in international journals such as Reading Research Quarterly, Harvard Educational Review, American Educational Research Journal and the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education. He has also contributed numerous invited entries in international handbooks and encyclopedias on literacy, critical literacy, and research methodology. He has served on numerous Australian state and national advisory groups in the area of literacy education and curriculum design. He was evaluator of the Australian national on-line curriculum initiative conducted by the Australian Curriculum Corporation, a co-founder of the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice at the National Institute of Education, Singapore, and lead consultant in the development of the Australian English Curriculum. He is currently a member of the New South Wales State Ministerial Advisory Group on Literacy and Numeracy and is the Australian Commonwealth Government’s nominee on the National Literacy and Numeracy Expert Group.
