Invaluable resource for SBE certification
By Andrea Toven
I recently took (and passed) the Certified Broadcast Technologist exam with the Society of Broadcast Engineers. Since I have limited resources, and would rather hold out a short while for the 11th edition to be released, I checked out this book from my local university library to use for a study tool. I took this book in with me when I took the CBT exam (most SBE exams are open book). This book proved absolutely invaluable in my preparation for the CBT exam and while taking the actual exam. Highly recommended for any engineer's reference shelf!

Tenth Edition NAB Engineering Handbook
By Dane E. Ericksen
If you're in the technical side of broadcasting, this handbook should be considered as a core text for your library. It's probably the most comprehensive, up to date, and technically accurate handbook that you can buy. Only authors with a proven track record and many years of experience are invited by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) to be authors, and those submissions are peer-reviewed before being finalized.
The only down sides are first that it's heavy (if you drop it on your foot you will probably be crippled for life) and second it's not printed in color; however, the handbook comes with a CD that includes colored versions of figures and tables where the contributing authors' figures/tables were in color.
Purchasing this handbook should be a no-brainer decision if you work in broadcasting or broadcast-related technical fields. It's a valuable reference tool.

Very, very comprehensive.
By Brian Reilly
I bought this e-book to help me study for the CBTE exam. I passed. It covered most of what I needed, but I still required other books. I don't recommend you reading off a smartphone because the book is too long. Using the search function on an e-book is normally great, but this book is a bit overwhelming. The new NAB book comes out in 2017. Wait for that unless you need it before.
